Iced Matcha Latte

Ingredients:

  • Ceremonial grade matcha or high-quality culinary matcha powder
  • Sweetener of choice (e.g., honey, agave syrup, sugar) - to taste
  • Milk or milk alternative (e.g., oat milk, soy milk)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Matcha: In a cup or matcha bowl, sift 1-2 teaspoons of matcha powder.

2. Add Sweetener (optional): If you want to sweeten your matcha latte, add your preferred amount of sweetener to the cup or bowl with the matcha powder (recommended sweeteners include honey or agave syrup).

3. Pour in Hot Water: Add a small amount of hot water (about 50-90 ml) to the cup or bowl. Quickly whisk it with a matcha whisk or bamboo matcha brush until the mixture becomes smooth and slightly frothy.

4. Fill a Glass with Ice Cubes: Place plenty of ice cubes in a separate glass.

5. Pour in the Milk: Pour your desired milk or milk alternative into the glass over the ice cubes, filling the glass about two-thirds full.

6. Pour the Matcha Mixture: Carefully pour the prepared matcha mixture over the milk and ice cubes.

7. Stir and Enjoy: Stir the matcha latte until the matcha is completely blended with the milk and ice, creating a uniform pastel green color. Enjoy your cold matcha latte!

Additional Tips:

You can adjust the sweetness level and the ratio of milk to matcha to suit your taste preferences. For added creaminess, you can use frothed milk or oat milk. Using ceremonial grade matcha is recommended for a creamier texture. Feel free to experiment with different milk alternatives to discover your favorite combination.
